Spanish Blackjack is played with eight unique decks. Each deck consists of 48 playing cards made up of the standard 52 cards, less the four 10 cards. Each deck is shuffled before every game.

The aim is to beat the Dealer's hand by either getting a better hand, without exceeding 21, or by the Dealer's hand going bust. In Spanish Blackjack, you can only bet one hand at a time.

Blackjack is when your hand contains an Ace and a card with a value of ten. It is the strongest hand in Spanish Blackjack, and automatically Stands. It cannot be beaten, only matched.

To play a game of Spanish Blackjack, do the following:

1. Click the Chip Selector Increase (+) and Decrease (-) buttons to select the chip size you want to bet.

Left-click the center betting circle in the play area to select the number of chips you want to bet.

Note:
To increase your bet, do the following:
Left-click the betting circle. The chip pile increases by one.

To reduce or remove a bet, do the following:
Right-click the bet you want to reduce or remove. The chip pile decreases by one.

2. Click the Deal button. A hand of two cards is dealt to you. The Dealer is dealt two cards, one card face-up and one card face-down.

Depending on the cards you are dealt and the game Rules, different betting options are available. You can perform more than one option, or repeat one option, depending on the stage of the game. The betting options are:

Hit

Click the Hit button. You are dealt one card.

Example:
Use the Hit option if you want the Dealer to deal you another card from the deck.

Stand

Click the Stand button. This ends the play of this hand.

Example:
Use the Stand option if you do not want to receive more cards and want to end the game.

Split

Click the Split button. Your hand is divided into two separate hands and a new card is dealt to each hand. You can Split a maximum number of three times per game, equalling 4 hands.

Example:
Use the Split option if you are dealt two cards with the same Denomination or Value, such as a Queen and a King, or two Fours. You can Split them into two separate hands.

Double Down

Click the Double button. A side bet equal to your original bet is placed on the table. You are dealt one more card. You can double a maximum of twice. The second Double doubles the entire bet amount, including the first double amount.

Example:
Use the Double Down option on any two cards. You can place a side bet that your hand will beat the Dealer’s hand.

Take Insurance

Click the Insurance button. An Insurance bet, equal to half your original bet, is placed on the table.

Example:
Use the Insurance option if the Dealer’s first card is an Ace. You take Insurance against the Dealer getting a Blackjack.

Late Surrender

Clicking the Surrender button enables you to give up half your original bet amount for the privilege of not playing out a hand.

Example:
Use the Surrender option if you think you are going to lose the hand.

Note:
If a button is gray, that option is not available according to the game Rules.

Once you have completed your betting options, your hand and the Dealer’s hands are compared. The hand with the highest value wins and the winnings are paid.
